Positons

1. Resident Assistants - Day:

   • Meet with students in the morning at breakfast and accompany them to and from classes and meals throughout the day.

   • Provide supervision during breaks and meals, ensuring students' safety and well-being.

2. Resident Assistants - Night:

   • Supervise students overnight, receiving them from the Day RAs at dinner and accompanying them to breakfast in the morning.

   • Ensure a safe and secure environment during the night hours.

3. Social Activities Coordinator:

   • Organize and plan social activities for students in the evenings, such as movie nights, games, and other recreational events.

4. Instructor:

   • Develop and create the curriculum for programming labs, ensuring the content is engaging and aligned with the program's goals.

5. Student Recruiting:

   • Collect contact information from prospective students and assist in organizing the recruitment process.

   • Make announcements at relevant orientation meetings and coordinate with staff to facilitate recruitment activities.

6. Student Application Coordinator:

   • Create an application for students to complete and coordinate the review process with volunteers.

   • Keep the student recruitment staff informed about the number of applicants and communicate acceptance decisions to students.

7. Housing Coordinator:

   • Coordinate housing arrangements for the program's participants, ensuring a smooth and organized move-in process.

   • Collaborate with staff recruiters to find volunteers to assist with student arrivals and address housing-related inquiries.

8. Lab Assistant Coordinators:

   • Recruit graduate and undergraduate students to assist participants during lab hours.

   • Coordinate and manage the student volunteers to ensure effective support for the programming labs.

9. Guest Speaker Coordinator:

   • Contact professors, graduate students, and industry representatives to arrange guest lectures and panels.

   • Facilitate arrangements for professors to have meals with students during the program.

10. Field Trip Coordinator:

    • Coordinate field trips with partner companies, ensuring transportation and catering arrangements are in place.

11. Food Coordinator:

    • Arrange catering, delivery, and payment for all meals held outside of the dormitories.

12. Volunteer Pool:

    • Recruit volunteers for various roles throughout the semester and summer, such as guest speakers, lab assistants, and application readers.

Establishing a dedicated leader for committees is vital to ensure that the work gets done. This leadership role should be filled by someone who is committed and willing to invest time and effort, particularly during the spring and summer periods when preparations are essential. Having a dedicated leader ensures the necessary organization, coordination, and accountability to drive the committee's success.
